After launching the new Mi A2 in India last week, the smartphone will go on sale for the first time today in the domestic market at 12 pm. Running the stock android version, the smartphone will be sold exclusively via Amazon India and Mi.com. Moreover, the device will also be available via offline stores this time around. As a reminder, Xiaomi launched the new Mi A2 in Spain last month. Offered in 4 shades - Black, Gold, Lake Blue and Rose Gold, the base variant (4GB RAM/64GB) is priced at Rs 16,999. As far as the specifications are concerned, the new Xiaomi Mi A2 handset comes with a 5.99-inch full-HD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, 1080x2160 pixels of resolution and pixel density of 403ppi. Moreover, the device is also protected by 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 5. Powering the new Mi A2 is an octa-core Snapdragon 660 SoC, which is mated to up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB inbuilt storage. On the photography front, the new Mi A2 smartphone comes with a rear camera module featuring a 12MP Sony primary sensor with f/1.75 aperture and a 20MP secondary sensor with f/1.75 aperture. Upfront, the Mi A2 is fitted with a 20MP sensor with a soft-light flash for selfies and video calling. The smartphone comes with several AI features such as Portrait mode, Beauty Mode 4.0, and face recognition. The device also gets electronic image stabilisation (EIS) for video recording. The new Xiaomi Mi A2 is offered in 2 variants - 64GB and 128GB, however, the company is currently offering the 64GB option only.
