HMD Global is gearing to launch the successor of Nokia 8.1 smartphone in the global market soon. To be called as Nokia 8.2, the smartphone will be the first Nokia device to feature a pop-up camera. As a reminder, Nokia 8.1 was introduced last year in December. According to the market reports, the smartphone is expected to feature a 32MP selfie camera. To recall, Nokia X71 smartphone was launched in China recently and it became the first device from HMD Global to sport a punch-hole display. However, the device is yet to be introduced in the international markets.
According to the report from MySmartPrice, the company is preparing to launch Nokia 8.2 with a pop-up camera. Moreover, the report also hints that the handset will run on Android Q out-of-the-box. Going by this piece of information, it is speculated that the company is eyeing to launch the device by second half of August or later. Google is also expected to release the latest version of Android Q for Pixel devices around second or third week of next month.
If leaks are to be believed, HMD Global is reportedly working on two new Nokia branded smartphones that will support 5G connectivity. It is expected that the two devices will be launched during the third quarter of 2019 wherein the first device is tipped to be a flagship device with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855. On the other hand, the second device could be a mid-range device that might be christened as Nokia 8.2. It is speculated that Nokia 8.2 might be a 4G device which will be powered by Snapdragon 700 series chipset.
