High Tide Alert Dates in Mumbai 2018: Calendar of High And Low Tides During This Monsoon
In 2018, there will be 24 high-tide days when the sea level will be above 4.6m in Mumbai. In the last year, Mumbai witnessed 18 high-tide days.
New Delhi, June 5: Pre-monsoon showers along with lightning and strong winds lashed Mumbai and disrupted rail, flight and road traffic earlier this week. According to reports by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the monsoon is likely to reach Maharashtra and Goa in the next two days.
Ajay Kumar, scientist, Indian Meteorological Department on Tuesday said that monsoon is expected to reach Maharashtra슬롯 머신 사이트 추천and surrounding areas by tomorrow. "Rainfall is expected to reach by 7-8 June in Mumbai. Heavy rain will begin from 9-10 June. Our department has predicted normal monsoon this year",슬롯 머신 사이트 추천Kumar added.
The BMC disaster control management has issued an advisory saying that this monsoon, there will be 24 high-tide days when the sea level will be above 4.6m in Mumbai. Authorities have stated that are chances of severe flooding in case of heavy rainfall on these days. During high tides, authorities close the floodgates to stop the rising seawater from entering the city and if there is a downpour at the same time, rainwater finds no outlet causing urban flooding.
To recall, the monsoon had made an onset in Kerala on 29 May, three days before its scheduled arrival. The IMD informed that monsoon has advanced in some parts of Tamil Nadu, and southwest, west-central, east-central, northeast of Bay of Bengal, and in most of the northeastern states.
In 2017, Mumbai had witnessed 18 high-tide days. According to the BMC, June, July, August and September, each will witness six high-tide days in 2018. BMC will be circulating the high-tide days슬롯사이트� list to other agencies like the fire brigade and traffic police to ensure monsoon preparedness.
